"Bonus Spotlight Performances"

which were highlighted in our published book

"JAZZ Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow"

Within the coming weeks we will be posting many of our produced favorite video clips beginning with the following: Gene Ammons playing "Two Different Worlds"

A few years ago while traveling and flying to Las Vegas with a over-night stay in Houston, Texas on Continental Airlines, which is now presently merged with United Airlines. During this dinner meeting at a nearby restaurant named Pappasito's Cantina located on Terminal Road close to Intercontinental Airport (IAH). We had discussions of the many music venues of the past that always featured Jazz musicians that were part of the straight-ahead & mainstream style of those years.

Topics were mentioned about The Balcony Club on Abrams Road and other places that are currently featuring Jazz. Many of the musicians and vocalists from the past decades were always talked about including Ernestine Anderson, Kenny Dorham, Red Garland, Herb Ellis and the saxophones of "The Texas Tenors" including Buddy Tate, James Clay, Arnett Cobb, and Illinois Jacquet.

I have been requested to post this short video clip of Illinois Jacquet playing "Flying Home" for Mike Melloni, Dave Bennett, Bill & Susan Glassman plus other friends at this excellent Tex-Mex Restaurant.
